Materials Distribution Manager

THE POSITION

  • Lead and manage all hospital stores, warehousing, and distribution operations to ensure timely, safe, and efficient supply of clinical and non-clinical goods.
  • Oversee inventory control, stock rotation, procurement coordination, and logistics processes to support uninterrupted patient care.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve systems, policies, and procedures aligned with public healthcare standards and compliance requirements.
  • Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team, including rostering, performance management, and fostering a high-performance, safety-focused culture.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical departments, procurement teams, and external suppliers to optimise supply chain performance and service delivery.

THE PERSON

  • Proven experience in a senior stores, warehouse, or distribution management role, ideally within healthcare or another complex, high-volume environment.
  • Strong leadership capability with demonstrated success building, mentoring, and motivating diverse teams.
  • Sound knowledge of inventory management systems, supply chain practices, and relevant compliance and safety regulations.
  • Highly organised with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across clinical and non-clinical teams.
