As a senior member of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) team, this role is responsible for driving and implementing our Indigenous Engagement & Inclusion framework across the organisation. This position provides thought leadership, innovative solutions, and strategic guidance to leaders at all levels. The role collaborates closely with Executive Directors, General Managers – Operations, and senior management to drive sustainable improvements in Indigenous engagement and inclusion. 

This position requires a high level of commitment, knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders. By providing specialist technical advice and coaching, this role fosters a culture of inclusion, respect, and accountability across the organisation. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide expert advice and leadership on Indigenous engagement and inclusion matters across all business sectors, operations, and shared services. 

  • Coach senior leaders to drive operational improvements in Indigenous engagement and inclusion. 

  • Develop and support Indigenous engagement strategies aimed at attracting and retaining diverse talent. 

  • Act as a trusted senior advisor to executives and management, providing insights and recommendations. 

  • Liaise with internal teams, clients, partners, and peak agencies to advance Indigenous engagement initiatives. 

  • Champion CGA’s Indigenous engagement and inclusion efforts within the Compass Group Global DE&I network. 

  • Promote Indigenous engagement initiatives to clients, management, and employees. 

  • Partner with People, Recruitment, Shared Services, and Operations teams to develop inclusive workplace strategies. 

  • Engage with Business Development to support Indigenous engagement and inclusion for client portfolios and tenders. 

  • Lead strategic projects to enhance CGA’s Indigenous engagement policies and practices. 

  • Drive compliance on Indigenous engagement policies and initiatives, ensuring integrity and alignment with legal requirements. 

  • Manage key Indigenous engagement initiatives, including Reconciliation Action Plans (RAP), DE&I Strategy, and Goolyara Bidi. 

  • Drive improvements from DE&I surveys (Indigenous Employment Index, AWEI, People Pulse, DCA, etc.). 

  • Report on progress and impact of Indigenous engagement initiatives. 

The Person 

  • Degree in HR, Business, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years' experience in DE&I and Indigenous engagement. 

  • Extensive experience providing high-level Indigenous engagement and inclusion advice to senior leaders. 

  • Strong project management and strategy development capabilities. 

  • Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. 

  • Proven leadership and ability to influence without direct authority. 

  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. 

  • High level of business acumen and ability to align DE&I initiatives with organisational objectives. 

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to create inclusive workplace environments.
