Operations Manager -  Functions & Events

CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park | Levy Australia
Where world-class events meet unforgettable hospitality.

Levy Australia is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operation Manager, Functions & Events to join our team at CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park – one of Melbourne’s most iconic conference and events destinations.

As part of the Levy family, you’ll play a central role in the seamless delivery of extraordinary experiences across a range of premium events — from gala dinners and brand activations to corporate conferences and one of the world’s biggest sporting moments: the Australian Open.

If you’re passionate about operational excellence, thrive under pressure, and are excited by the challenge of delivering high-end functions and events on a grand scale, we want to hear from you.

From the stadium to the head table, Levy leverages unbridled creativity, custom strategies, impeccable service, and true love for great food to create unforgettable experiences. From designing tasty menus to trying out the latest tech, we have tactics that help to deliver once-ina-lifetime experiences.

The Position

  • Lead end-to-end event operations at Centrepiece, ensuring smooth planning, set-up, and execution and food and beverage service across all spaces
  • Oversee client liaison, event logistics, and front-of-house service delivery, ensuring guest satisfaction at every stage
  • Collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure flawless delivery and alignment with Levy's brand standards
  • Manage staffing requirements, rostering, and on-the-day coordination across multiple functions
  • Maintain operational efficiency, safety, and compliance across all events
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across all aspects of the event lifecycle
  • Report on event outcomes, customer feedback, and service quality to inform future improvements
  • Act as a key operational lead during the Australian Open 2025, working alongside major stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-profile environment

The Person

  • Proven experience in managing operations or large-scale events within a high-volume hospitality or conference/events environment
  • A true “hospitalitarian” with great food and beverage knowledge and in particular an affinity with what’s best about Victorian produce
  • A natural leader with strong communication skills, a client-first mindset, and an ability to motivate large teams
  • A meticulous eye for detail and problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of event logistics, customer service excellence, and compliance protocols
  • Proficient in event management systems and rostering software
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Experience working on major events like sporting tournaments or international conferences (desirable)

The Benefits

  • Join a passionate team redefining hospitality in a world-class venue
  • Access to leadership development, mentoring, and training programs
  • Genuine career pathways within Levy and Compass Group Australia
  • Work in a vibrant, supportive, and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same
  • Be at the heart of Australia’s premier summer event – the Australian Open

At Levy, we believe that unforgettable experiences start with extraordinary people. If you're ready to be part of something truly special, apply now to shape moments that matter — at Centrepiece, and beyond.
