As the Event Operations Manager (Premium Experience) you will be an integral part of our new partnership with Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP). In this role, you will be pivotal in leading front-of-house operations and facilitating events while supporting sales initiatives. From coordinating logistics to managing client relationships and a strong team of Hospitality staff, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional experiences for our guests and clients alike 

Showcase your expertise across this globally recognised destination for the best of live sport and entertainment including five iconic venues (John Cain Arena, Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, Kia Arena and CENTREPIECE). 

Leveraging Levy Australia’s cutting-edge, guest-centric approach your role will be integral in allowing our teams to deliver legendary experiences for the up to three million guests to hundreds of events the park welcomes each year, including the world’s biggest tennis tournament, the Australian Open. Fast-paced, and no two days the same, you will be responsible for:

The Position:

  • Lead strategic planning and execution for seamless events, ensuring exceptional guest experiences in sports competitions and concerts. 
  • Implement Event Production Schedules and Event Management Plans, overseeing event safety with an H&S Advisor when needed. 
  • Liaise with Statutory Consultants, Safety Advisory Group (SAG), and manage licensing & permissions applications. 
  • Manage a team, providing direction, training, and support for effective collaboration and adherence to safety and operational standards. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external vendors, and organisers to execute event logistics, address challenges, and exceed client expectations. 

The Person:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, including extensive event management experience 
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, effectively delegate responsibilities, and cultivate a collaborative work environment.  
  • An understanding of laws, security, and health and safety in catering services.  
  • The ability to work under pressure and navigate challenging situations effectively.
