Safety Coordinator (Workplace Health & Safety Specialist)

$80,000 - $90,000 + Super

  • 9-Month fixed term contract
  • Hybrid work model

As our new Safety Coordinator, you will support our client Accenture in delivering their Workplace Health & Safety strategy across a dynamic, fast‑paced corporate environment. The role will collaborate closely with local and global stakeholders to develop a Workplace Health and Safety strategy, governance, and operating model tailored for the Australian and New Zealand market units. They will work alongside local Workplace Health and Safety teams to support implementing and sustaining a comprehensive health and safety management system throughout our operations.

The POSITION:

  • Assist in developing and implementing safety programs at the corporate and project levels under the guidance of the Workplace Health and Safety Manager
  • Support coordination of safety compliance and auditing activities, including assisting in maintaining third-party auditing accounts and client safety compliance
  • Assist in implementing a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) strategy in ANZ in alignment with global standards and local guidelines and regulations
  • Participate in implementing and maintaining Accenture’s ISO45001 certified WHS Management system in ANZ
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to contribute to developing Health and Safety policies and procedures for ANZ
  • Provide input and suggestions for improving workplace safety
  • Assist in conducting regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks and provide input on mitigation control measures
  • Contribute to fostering a strong safety culture within the organization by actively participating in awareness campaigns, communication efforts, and employee engagement activities
  • Working closely with local safety leads to learning and ensures WHS compliance with client requirements and local regulations
  • Assist in incident investigation and analysis processes to understand root causes and recommend corrective actions under the guidance of senior team members
  • Stay informed about industry’s best practices, emerging trends, and changes in WHS regulations, and share this knowledge with the team to contribute to the company's Health and Safety management system
  • As needed, participate in distributing educational materials and training programs related to employee safety policies, procedures, accident protection, and prevention

THE PERSON:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, Diploma of WHS, or Graduate Certificate WHS
  • Effective communication and people skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the following desirable:
  • Supporting health and safety initiatives within a large/global company
  • Risk management of a variety of work environment types (e.g., warehousing)
  • development, implementation and periodic revision of health and safety management systems, policies, and procedures
  • conducting internal audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • analytical and critical thinking skills, with a growing ability to use data for decision-making
  • ability to effectively communicate Health and safety principles and advisories to diverse audiences
  • Exposure to managing third-party accounts, such as ISNetworld and Avetta, and experience in supporting project pre-access activities

*Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate is required to hold valid qualifications and undergo a National Police Check prior to commencement.
