Collaborate within a dedicated team in a unique environment as a Chefs and Cooks our Defence sites in Wagga – RAAF Base Wagga and Blamey Barracks. These roles are suitable for candidates that enjoy bulk cooking with a passion for quality, flavour, and presentation. You’ll get full training and support while working in a dynamic and fun working environment.
The Position:
Casual, part time and full time positions available
Prepare high-quality, buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, and events
Uphold catering standards, comply with OH&S and HACCP regulations, and maintain a strong focus on waste reduction
Support kitchen operations by managing inventory, receiving supplies, and monitoring cold room controls
Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions
The Person:
Chef:
$34 per hour
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
Proven experience in large commercial kitchens.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, and food safety.
Passionate about quality, with a focus on presentation and attention to detail.
Goal-oriented, committed to personal and organisational success.
Cook:
$27.5 per hour
Experience in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably in high-volume settings.
Good understanding of basic food safety, hygiene, and kitchen protocols (HACCP knowledge desirable).
Able to follow set recipes and directions, ensuring consistency and quality.
Team player with a can-do attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn and grow.
