We’re seeking a Commercial Analyst to join our Defence team, providing analytical and commercial finance support across complex and high-impact operations. Working closely with the Commercial Business Partner and General Manager of Operations, you’ll play a key role in supporting decision-making, optimising performance, and driving commercial improvement initiatives across our Defence contracts.
About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will:
Partner with senior leaders to provide financial and commercial analysis across the Defence portfolio.
Support mobilisation activities, contract reviews, and commercial negotiations.
Deliver clear insights to Operations on financial performance, cost efficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
Lead the management and execution of contract change proposals.
Challenge existing business models and identify opportunities for efficiency
Build and enhance reporting tools that enable the Operations team to manage and track financial performance.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the broader Commercial team.
Contribute to and promote Compass Group’s Our Safety Culture by leading with care, awareness, and accountability.
About You
You’re a commercially savvy analyst who thrives on providing meaningful insight and enjoys working at the intersection of operations and finance. You’ll bring:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial finance or analytical roles.
Strong financial modelling and commercial review skills.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capability (Power BI or Anaplan experience desirable).
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to challenge and drive improvement.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deliverables.
Desirable:
5+ years’ experience within a broader finance environment.
Experience in bid modelling or large-scale contract environments.
