Compass Group is seeking a proactive and dependable Attendant - Gardener to join our team on an ad hoc basis for an 18-month secondment at the Boddington minesite. This role operates on a 14/7 roster with 11-hour shifts, ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and visually appealing environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep of landscaped areas, gardens, and outdoor communal spaces, contributing to the overall presentation and functionality of the site.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform routine gardening tasks including planting, pruning, watering, weeding, and mulching.
Maintain lawns and green spaces through mowing, edging, and fertilizing.
Operate and maintain gardening equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
Monitor plant health and apply pest control treatments and fertilizers as needed.
Assist with landscaping projects including turf laying, garden bed construction, and irrigation installation.
Maintain cleanliness and order in outdoor areas including pathways and communal zones.
Support seasonal planting and garden refresh initiatives in line with site standards.
Ensure safe work practices when handling chemicals and operating machinery.
Collaborate with site maintenance and cleaning teams to uphold Compass Group’s service excellence standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or groundskeeping (preferred).
Basic horticultural knowledge and familiarity with native plant care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
Strong commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
Must have a full Australian driver’s license.
Must have own car to drive in an out of site.
Forklift License preferred or ability to obtain.
