ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.
You will be based in regional NSW working on our remote mine site village
14 days on 7 days off, salary of $95,000
Full time permanent employment
FIFO from Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne
The Position:
Work closely with the head chef & management to exceed customer expectations
Ensure OH&S compliance, adhering to safe work practices and food handling procedures.
Ensure all catering controls are in place, & wastage is kept to a minimum
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control & cleanliness in accordance with Compass standards.
Supervise, train and support kitchen staff
Enhance workplace culture – display high levels of customer service, contribute ideas & be flexible to meet the needs of the business.
The Person:
Cert III in Commercial Cookery Minimum
Must be reliable, strong communication & capable of leading a team
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role
Experience within bulk catering/ cooking environments
Remote experience preferred but not essential
Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures & operations
Experience with hygienic work practices and appropriate HACCP guidelines
A proactive leader who is professional, positive, supportive, & motivated with experience in training, & developing a team of hospitality professionals
