We currently have an opportunity for a dynamic business professional to join our ESS business in the capacity of Contract Manager.

The Contract Manager will oversee contract compliance, manage client relationships, and handle scope changes and variations. Key responsibilities include auditing contracts, supporting sub-contractor onboarding, tracking costs and forecasts, and preparing monthly reports and P&L analysis. The role also involves managing contract databases, and amendments, and ensuring policy compliance. We’re looking for a proactive team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders. Previous experience in managing service contracts is essential, and experience in the resource industry will be a significant differentiator. You will also handle contracts within a top 5 rentable company portfolio, present Quarterly Business Reports, and assist with ad-hoc tasks as needed.

The Role 

In this role, you will engage closely with clients on all commercial and contractual matters, including compliance requirements, scope changes and contract variations, ensuring alignment to agreed terms and business objectives. You will take responsibility for managing contract compliance and delivering accurate monthly reporting, including KPI tracking, while proactively auditing contracts to identify and mitigate any potential revenue leakage. You will support subcontractor onboarding processes and oversee associated activities such as invoice compilation for client charging, while also reviewing and tracking cost reports, expenditure, forecasts and variations throughout the lifecycle of each contract.

Working closely with the wider commercial and finance teams, you will contribute to month-end activities including reporting, P&L analysis, budgeting and forecasting, while also preparing business cases and recommendations to support contractual improvements and performance optimisation. You will assist with audits and ad-hoc commercial projects, maintain accurate contract databases, registers and documentation, and support the facilitation of contract pricing and scope amendments. In addition, you will manage head office invoice processes, cost transfers and purchase order registers, ensuring strong governance and financial control.

A key part of the role will involve supporting the collation and distribution of site reporting, as well as preparing and presenting Quarterly Business Reviews for clients. You will also undertake additional responsibilities as required, supporting broader business priorities under the direction of the General Manager.

The Person

  • 06 – 08 years of service contracts management and preferable from the Resource industry but not essential
  • Commercial acumen - the ability to understand and interpret contracts, commercial terms and financial data
  • Knowledge of law, negotiations, accounting or cost engineering, gained through education or experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of company policies, procedures and work practices
  • Stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and engage at all levels of the organisation
  • Positive 'can-do' attitude with the ability to who can work autonomously as well as in a team
  • A high level of ethical standards in honesty, integrity and confidentiality
  • Vibrant personality who will be able to work easily with their peers
  • Ability to work independently where required
