ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.

We are seeking experienced Chefs to work Full-Time at our Eureka Creek Village, Goonyella Road, Moranbah, Central Qld. Here you will deliver exceptional quality and service to our residents.

Roster is 14 days on, 7 days off roster, working 10 hour days.

Salary is $98587 + super.

Drive-in, drive-out for locals or fly-in, fly-out ex Brisbane with flights, accommodation and meals provided.

The Position 

• Work collaboratively with a team of Chefs, Kitchen Utilities and Dining Room employees
• Buffet style bulk cooking for Breakfast and Crib Lunch, or Dinner and Desserts
• Ensure OH&S compliance, adhering to safe work practices and food handling procedures
• Ensure all catering controls are in place, and wastage is kept to the minimum
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control and cleanliness in accordance with Compass standards
• Assist Head Chefs in managing team performance and employee development

The Person

• You must be a qualified Chef with a minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Bulk catering or buffet experience is essential. 
• You will have the ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and great time management is a must.
• Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
• Excellent knowledge of food safety and able to manage compliance. 
• Must be able to pass a Pre-employment medical and Drug and Alcohol Test
• Standard 11 Certificate (desirable)
