Functions Coordinator

$29.89/hr + 12% Super

THE POSITION

• This role is responsible for the successful coordination, events and functions, including client (internal and external) liaison and dining operations.
• Assist in coordinating the front of house team’s daily operations and function operations.
• Lead the team to deliver exceptional, prompt and friendly service
• Lead from the front, mentor and train the team, ensuring a fun and energetic working environment
• Provide administration support to the site’s management team 
• Adherence to Our Safety Culture framework is expected
• Conduct follow-up correspondence with clients and respond to feedback
• Liaise with kitchen and service teams regarding room set up and menu requirements during weekly run sheet meetings
• Provide a warm, friendly and welcoming service to customers and clients

THE PERSON

• Minimum 2+ years with proven experience in a function venue or similar environment
• Demonstrated previous experience in a similar restaurant/retail environment
• Experienced as a Host in a similar environment
• Experience leading a team, identify opportunities for improvement, train and develop staff
• Good knowledge of Melbourne food and beverage scene
• Excellent communication skills, ability to confidently lead team briefing sessions with up to 12 team members
• Experience with an online booking system, ensuring table and coordinating guests
• Well-groomed and professional in appearance with attention to detail
• Strong work ethic and “can do” attitude

** A current Working With Children Check or ability to obtain is a requirement of this role
