  • Oversee high-volume catering and daily event execution within an iconic zoo venue.
  • Bring strong organizational skills to run the show in a vibrant, dynamic environment.

The Role

  • Drive Event Execution: Oversee and manage daily function operations, ensuring flawless end-to-end event delivery.
  • Lead & Inspire: Coach, mentor, and motivate function supervisors and team leaders to maintain high morale and exceptional service standards.
  • Maintain Culinary & Service Excellence: Partner closely with our talented culinary team to ensure every plate, platter, and pour reflects menu perfection and premium guest satisfaction.
  • Operational Management: Drive administrative efficiency across roster planning, stock control, labour optimization, and supplier ordering.
  • Client & Guest Engagement: Act as the primary on-ground ambassador, meeting, greeting, and delighting clients to exceed expectations at every event.
  • Grace Under Pressure: Maintain a calm, confident presence, keeping complex, multi-event operations running smoothly on time and on standard in an environment that’s diverse daily.

 

The Person

  • Proven Management Background: Demonstrated experience supervising or managing functions, banquets, or large-scale events within hospitality or venue catering.
  • Service Champion: A strong track record of anticipating client needs and consistently exceeding customer satisfaction benchmarks.
  • Inspiring Leader: Exceptional interpersonal and team-building skills with a passion for developing staff.  
  • Agile & Adaptable: A flexible, solution-focused attitude with the ability to pivot seamlessly during live, fast-paced events.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively across clients, kitchen staff, Zoos Victoria stakeholders.
  • Licensing Requirements: Valid Australian Driver’s License.
