We have a great opportunity for a Unit Manager to lead hospitality operations at The Museum of Australian Democracy. An opportunity to:

  • Support public engagement outcomes by delivering services that align with the Museum’s educational and heritage objectives.

You will lead hospitality operations in one of Australia’s most significant cultural institutions. As the Unit Manager at the Museum of Australian Democracy, you will have end‑to‑end responsibility for delivering high‑quality retail and events hospitality within a nationally recognised venue.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership across premium events, visitor dining and retail operations, balancing commercial performance with exceptional guest experience. From overseeing high‑profile functions within iconic chambers to curating menus that showcase Australian produce, you will lead teams, optimise operations, and ensure service delivery reflects the significance of the setting.

The Position

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience to employees and guests
  • Oversee a focused team of service professionals across the Culinary, Sales & Marketing, Beverage and Function offerings
  • Optimise the sales and marketing function to drive revenue and venue utilisation
  • Take accountability for innovation, offering solutions for continued service, food and beverage growth ideas
  • Understand the importance of staff mentoring the ‘next generation’ and take steps to train, motivate and succession plan

The Person

  • You are passionate about all thing’s hospitality, taking pride in service standards and how you organise your team
  • A hospitality leader with relevant experience leading a multi-function venue offering
  • Commercially minded with a focus on cost optimisation and revenue generation
  • You are able to manage a multi stakeholder network to drive outcomes for clients and the business.
