The Position

Leading a team of up to 30 employees, you’ll oversee multiple departments and coordinate several services operating simultaneously across the school.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead, develop and support a diverse hospitality team of up to 30 employees.
• Oversee multiple departments and coordinate simultaneous hospitality services across the operation.
• Manage functions and events from initial enquiry and planning through to successful service delivery.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with the client, customers and key stakeholders.
• Work closely with the Head Chef, providing operational support and maintaining a strong understanding of kitchen operations.
• Oversee retail operations, including a high-end café outlet, with barista experience highly regarded.
• Support the delivery of cleaning and laundry services alongside the relevant Supervisor, with previous experience in these areas preferred.
• Take ownership of outlet financial performance, including a strong understanding of P&L, budgets, labour and operational costs.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, allergen management and operational compliance.
• Create an environment where leaders and team members have the autonomy, support and accountability to succeed in their respective roles.
• Continuously look for opportunities to enhance the customer experience and improve operational performance.

The Person

We’re looking for a genuine hospitality professional and people leader who is comfortable moving between client conversations, functions, cafés, kitchens and operational problem-solving.

You will ideally bring:

• Demonstrated experience managing a sizeable hospitality team.
• Strong multi-department operational management experience.
• A strong functions and events background, covering the complete journey from enquiry through to execution.
• Excellent customer service and client engagement skills with the ability to build long-term relationships.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and the ability to effectively partner with a Head Chef.
• Commercial confidence and a sound understanding of P&L management.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and allergen management.
• Experience overseeing cleaning and/or laundry services would be advantageous.
• Barista or café experience would be highly regarded.
• A collaborative leadership style focused on developing people, creating accountability and giving your team the autonomy to perform at their best.
