Senior Contracts Specialist

Strategic commercial leadership in a high‑energy, service‑driven environment

  • Reporting to the BU Executive General Manager
  • Perth office based, Newcastle street, East Perth, WA 6000
  • Hybrid working model (2 days working from home & 3 days working in the office)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Specialist to provide strategic commercial leadership across a diverse and complex portfolio of client contracts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, operationally intensive environments and enjoys partnering closely with stakeholders to deliver strong commercial outcomes.

You will play a key role in strengthening contract governance, enhancing commercial performance, and building trusted, long‑term client relationships. With a focus on optimisation, risk awareness and continuous improvement, you will help ensure contracts are managed with clarity, care and commercial discipline—while supporting growth and service excellence across the region.

This role suits professionals from industries where scale, pace and service delivery matter—such as hospitality, facilities services, resources, retail, healthcare, logistics or other large operational environments.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Contract Governance & Commercial Leadership
Oversee end‑to‑end contract management across a large and varied portfolio.
Provide clear, practical commercial guidance to senior leaders, operational teams and clients.
Ensure contracts are managed in line with agreed terms, regulatory requirements and organisational standards.
Develop, maintain and continuously improve contract frameworks, registers and governance controls.
Manage variations, scope changes, renewals and extensions with a strong focus on value, clarity and risk management.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Act as a senior point of contact for contractual and commercial discussions.
Build strong, trusted partnerships that support long‑term retention and sustainable growth.
Facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews and ongoing performance conversations.
Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing reviews, variations and issue resolution, with a collaborative and solutions‑focused approach.
  • Financial & Commercial Performance
Maintain financial integrity across contracts, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing analysis and revenue assurance.
Lead monthly commercial reviews, ensuring insights are timely, accurate and decision‑ready.
Identify opportunities to improve margins, enhance efficiency and optimise cost structures.
Strengthen controls to reduce revenue leakage through proactive monitoring and audits.
  • Risk, Compliance & Assurance
Lead contract compliance audits and follow through on improvement actions.
Identify, assess and manage commercial, financial and contractual risks.
Ensure alignment with legal, safety, procurement and governance requirements.
Maintain accurate, accessible contract documentation and audit trails.
  • Leadership, Collaboration & Capability Building
Coach and support Contracts Managers, Administrators and operational leaders.
Work closely with Finance, Operations, Legal and Procurement teams to deliver shared outcomes.
Contribute to major commercial initiatives, transformation programs and systems enhancements.
Champion best‑practice contract management across the region.
  • Innovation & Smart Use of Technology
Support the adoption of AI‑enabled tools, analytics and digital workflows within contract management.
Help improve forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency and compliance through technology‑led solutions.

What You’ll Bring
Essential Experience & Capabilities

  • Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in senior contract, commercial or governance roles.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi‑site contracts within large, operational organisations.
  • Strong commercial judgement with a track record of achieving balanced, sustainable outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of contract law, commercial frameworks, financial reporting and cost management.
  • Confidence influencing senior stakeholders, clients and executives.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and perform well in high‑energy, deadline‑driven environments.
  • Clear, confident communication skills, including preparing executive‑level reports and insights.
  • Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel and commercial data analysis.
  • High standards of integrity, discretion and professional judgement.

Desirable

  • Degree in Business, Law, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Experience in hospitality, facilities services, resources, healthcare, retail or other large‑scale service environments.
  • Exposure to AI, digital tools or commercial transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success improving commercial processes at scale.
