THE POSITION

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school canteen, hospitality services, and special event catering within the school environment.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on fresh, nutritious food and exceptional service for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Coordinate school event catering including assemblies, sports days, parent functions, and special celebrations from planning through to delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, allergen management, and health & safety regulations, while monitoring financial performance and budget targets.
  • Manage recruitment, training, and performance development of catering team members, promoting a safe and supportive workplace culture.
  • Build strong relationships with school leadership, staff, parents, and students to deliver consistent, high-quality food services aligned with the school community.

 

THE PERSON

  • Proven relationship management skills with the confidence to engage effectively with school leadership teams, parents, students, and internal stakeholders.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a catering environment, ideally within education or high-volume service, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • A genuine passion for child nutrition, healthy menu development, and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving sustainable food programs.
  • Sound understanding of food safety standards and allergen management within a school setting.
