Supervisor - Cleaning | Mater Hospital, Newcastle

THE POSITION

• Supervise, train and coordinate cleaning staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality cleaning services are delivered across the hospital.
• Manage daily operations, inductions, staff development, equipment management, audits, and compliance reporting.
• Oversee infection prevention and control practices, including clinical cleaning, waste management, hygiene standards, and responding to infection risks.
• Support a positive safety culture by promoting safe work practices, managing hazards, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

THE PERSON

• Previous cleaning experience with demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to train, support and motivate team members.
• Knowledge of infection control practices, workplace health and safety requirements, and cleaning operations within healthcare environments.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a National Police Clearance and be physically fit, reliable, and flexible in their approach to work.
