We are currently on the hunt for an experienced and passionate Function/Events Manager to join our expanding catering operations at our premium campus in Hawthorn. As the Function Manager, you'll know everything there is to know about creating amazing function experiences and running a tight commercial operation. You will be passionate and hands on in your role and thoroughly enjoy the challenge of executing outstanding events.

Key duties

• Partner with the Unit Manager & Head Chef to ensure accurate function delivery
• Bump in and bump out of a variety of functions on campus
• Contribute to the continual development of the client partnership
• Function client liaison
• Ensure all functions are delivered at an impeccable standard
• Labour cost/control
• Ensure all events/functions adhere to strict health, safety and security procedures
• Rostering & management of the function team

 The Person

• Minimum 2-3 years function management experience in a comparable environment
• Experience in a mixture of events from pop up outlets, camps, luncheons and 3-course dinners
• Commercially savvy and knows how to identify and deliver on growth opportunities
• Positive, supportive, ambitious leader with experience in carrying out personal development plans, staff training sessions and appraisals
• Develops effective relationships with individuals at all levels, from diverse backgrounds, cultures and locations
• Is passionate about delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction and engagement
• Will have great attention to detail with an excellent ability to multi-task and prioritise
