We are currently seeking a highly experienced and enthusiastic Cleaning & Accommodation Manager to oversee and enhance our accommodation and cleaning services, across our Defence sites in Cairns. About the Role:  

As the Cleaning & Accommodation Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of cleaning and accommodation, ensuring high standards of service, safety, and compliance. You’ll lead a diverse team, manage budgets and resources, and drive continuous improvement across all functions.  

Your responsibilities will include:

• Oversee accommodation and cleaning services to ensure consistent operational excellence.
• Establish and manage stock control systems, procurement, and supply processes. 
• Develop and maintain staff rosters aligned with operational requirements.  
• Respond to stakeholder enquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.  
• Manage budgets to ensure cost efficiency and effective resource allocation. 
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards. 
• Prepare and present regular operational and performance reports.

What we’re looking for: 

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial role within cleaning, accommodation, hotels or facilities services.  
• Multi-site management experience preferred.
• Diploma or degree in Facilities Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or similar (advantageous).  
• Certification in cleaning management or a related discipline (advantageous).  
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to cleaning and accommodation.
• Proven leadership experience with a strong focus on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence Security Clearance.
• Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement for this position.
• A valid driver's licence is required for this position.
