Compass Group Australia will deliver essential support services at the new Footscray Hospital, one of Victoria’s largest health infrastructure projects. We will provide vital services, including patient services, environmental services, food, security, help desk, and more. As a public hospital with clinical services provided by Western Health, this state-of-the-art facility will play a key role in supporting the community—be part of something bigger and help shape the future of healthcare in Victoria.

THE POSITION

  • Lead mobilisation of security operations, including procedures, training, and scenario testing for commissioning.
  • Oversee security service delivery, ensuring compliance with contractual KPIs, legislation, and hospital standards.
  • Build strong relationships with Western Health, Victoria University, emergency services, and key stakeholders.
  • Recruit, train, roster, and develop a high-performing, professional security team.
  • Provide strategic security oversight, advise on risks, and continuously improve operational procedures.
  • Implement and manage security technologies (CCTV, access control, alarms) and maintain accurate reporting systems.
  • Act as principal escalation point for service issues, driving a culture of safety, service excellence, and improvement.
  • Represent security services at governance and stakeholder meetings, ensuring operational alignment.
  • Manage team performance, including coaching, absence management, and compliance with industrial relations standards.
  • Maintain strong on-site leadership visibility, championing a proactive, safety-first culture.

THE PERSON

  • Extensive experience managing large-scale security operations in healthcare, public services, or critical infrastructure.
  • Detailed understanding of Prevention and Management of Occupational Violence and Aggression (OVA).
  • Proven ability to manage compliance with contractual KPIs, regulations, and service standards.
  • Strong stakeholder management across clients, government agencies, and emergency services.
  • Leadership in recruiting, training, and managing high-performing security teams with IR compliance.
  • Expertise in risk assessment, incident response, and strategic security planning.
  • Proficient in security technologies (CCTV, access control, alarms) and operational reporting.
  • Experienced in reporting, compliance documentation, and continuous service improvement.
  • Relevant security licences.
  • First aid certificate.
  • Driver’s License.
