For thousands working in remote areas, a hot meal at the end of a long day is an essential comfort. Our amazing Chefs and Cooks work at a variety of remote sites across the country. They are at the forefront of the Compass Group workforce, providing high quality and nutritious food to the residents, guests and employees onsite.
Our Chefs and Cooks have the opportunity to work in all aspects of food preparation, from breakfasts to retail grab ‘n go to site events. Interested in a Fly-In/Out, Drive-In/Out or Bus-In/Out role? Anthony's story
Chef Anthony Facey from our Moranbah site in Queensland is an inspirational success story of Compass Group’s partnership with the Clontarf Foundation. His is a remarkable story of what people can achieve if you put in the hard work. When a Clontarf Employment Officer took him to meet the kitchen staff in one of our sites in Gatton, his chef journey slowly began. At first, Anthony wasn’t convinced he should be a chef as he thought he was “too dumb” to succeed. But he gave it a go and became an apprentice chef. The rest, as they say, is history. Today, Anthony wants to continue with his career growth within the company and try for a management role. He believes he has a great future ahead of himself. “You’ve got to earn what you get, and get what you earn,” Anthony said.
